This is the official link to Zayden's GoFundMe page. The previous campaign, created by a kind friend, has unfortunately been locked, preventing us from accessing it for updates or changes. For families with special needs members, the challenges are immense. Their care often requires significant time and resources, making it difficult for caregivers to pursue regular employment. This is especially true for low-income families, where finding flexible, well-paying jobs to accommodate these unique needs can be nearly impossible.
Zayden's current and future needs have been weighing heavily on my mind. I am actively working on creating a solid, reliable plan to ensure his care and well-being, especially in case something happens to me. While his mother loves him deeply, her intellectual disabilities, limited understanding of medical complexities, and her own diagnosis of Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 make it challenging for her to provide the extensive care and advocacy Zayden requires. As it stands, I am the primary advocate for both Zayden and his mother, helping them navigate what they cannot on their own. This is why I feel an urgent need to establish a comprehensive plan for their future care and support.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will address Zayden's immediate needs and also contribute towards attorney fees to develop a robust plan for his long-term care.
